AIDS Part II

Testing the Human Spirit Part II

Doug and Nancy Simon separated the day after they buried Candace, unable to put their lives back together after the tragic loss of their daughter. As Doug withdrew into his own painful struggle, Nancy embraced life and was determined to make a fresh start, moving into a small one bedroom apartment with her two boys, hoping to make a difference in their lives before her death in the spring of 1996.

Nancy Simon adapted to the hardship and heartache of her daily struggle with AIDS. Her story is a stark reflection of the human condition and a testament to the human spirit.

Brian and Eric Simon are now adults and continue to help their father as he fights his own battle with AIDS.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, an estimated 600,000 Americans have died of AIDS.
